
Who is a leader? What is the difference between leader and a boss?
Leader is person who has the ability to show path and take them with him. S o why do we need a leader. Because we cant do anything on our own and thats the bitter truth leader is not only the person who show path but also the person who take initiative and responsibility of things.
A leader also has many type according to the way they work. like Teachers; they are the one who break rule and make new one . They are the ones who teaches us values and ethic like Buddha and Gandhi. Then there are the Heroes they have traits of Teacher but some addons they lead just because of some noble cause or for great works. they are the ones who recognize the big picture and do thing for a noble cause. At end there are the Rulers they like the big guns they like to dominate people and like to exercise and gain power. Rulers are most risky ones as some ruler cant quench their Thirst for power.
No matter the type of the leader they have the same traits. like
- All leader have some responsibility on their shoulder
- all of the has authority on subordinates
- they have the willingness to accept the fate of their decisions and action.
- they have ability of being patient and self confident.
How can one become a leader?
The answer to this question is very simple. no one is a born leader but learn with experiences and seeing other leaders succeed ,using models and examples. Being honest become a leader is not a fair game history has shown that some leader have done really bad things to become or remain a leader. No one has the traits for birth but acquire them in life through experience.
What do followers want in their leader?
So this is the million dollar question as to guess what follower want from the leader as if a leader ask it directly followers lose the hope in leader as they think if the leader just even dont know about their need how will he leader us. People want their leader to be integrative who takes everybody with them, a leader should have full knodge what he os doing and what he is capable of.
Do Leaders care about people?
The answer is yes and no. This mainly depends on how followers or workers dedication and integrity. like a leader wont care about things if no one listen to him. Even if people don’t show any initiative at all.
A good leader will always delegate his power and responsibility so that not just is burden by work but his co worker too. he involve his coworker in all functions of management. A good management should have the ability or behaviour of people. leader should have insight in the work, courage to make decision with risks etcetera.

Leadership Equation
According to the leadership Equation the leader are of two types.
- Trait theory which mainly focus on the traits and behaviour of the leader.
- Behaviour Theory this theory focuses on the actions of the leader what and how he handles things .
Trait theory
Even distinctive physical and psychological characteristics account for leadership effectiveness. moreover thing like Basic intelligence, Clear and strong values and High level of personal energy also count in.
Leadership Behavior Theory
In 1930 the trend shifted from trait to how a leader behaviour and how he work under circumstances.
According to Kurt lewin there are three styles of leadership.
- Autocratic: Characterized by tight control of group activities and decisions made by the leader Sound like a dictator cause all dictator fall in this type of leadership
- Democratic : these leaders like to delegate their decision making power with group to make thing work faster. they even like to take the view of every person in group.
- Laissez-faire; these are like informal leader which give up all of their power to subordinate.
Studies
- Ralph Stogdill at Ohio State University created a Leader Behavior Description Questionnaire or L B D Q which describes leader in two types:Initiating structure and Consideration
- Rensis Likert at University of Michigan concluded that worker motivation and group performance impact of leaders’ behavior. And two dimension Job-centered and Employee-centered.
Robert Blake and Jane Mouton’s Managerial Grid
•Identifies the ideal leader as having a high concern for both production and people

Leadership Contingency Theory
States that the most proper leadership qualities and actions vary from
circumstances to circumstances. Leaders in different situations need diverse interests, values, and skills.
States that leadership effectiveness depends on:

- Situational factors
